In 2008 Southeastern Engineering, Inc. developed and implemented ECO Smart business practices throughout our facility. Our first goal was to address the increasing need for electricity; as machines expand technologically power consumption grows exponentially. In an effort to reduce our consumption of electricity derived from fossil fuels we installed a Renewable Power Generation System. This passive solar system consists of 153 roof mounted photo voltaic modules. These poly-crystalline silicon panels deliver over 26000 watts of clean emissions free electricity. This ecological benefit is combined with an overall reduction in energy cost exceeding 30% annually.

Recycling of scrap metal is a standard function in the machine shop environment. In addition to this recycling program we have added coolant and tooling. Beyond our machine shop we have implemented recycling of waste generated during all business activities. This includes plastics, paper products and other office supplies.
